2021 TECH PRAIRIE STEAM EXPO ESPORTS COMPETITION
This year, Illinois 4-H at the University of Illinois Extension, in collaboration with Illinois Department of Innovation & Technology, are pleased to announce the first ever 2021 eSports Competition set to take place in person on Saturday, August 21st, 2021 at the Orr Building on the Illinois State Fairgrounds in Springfield, IL. A paid admission to the State Fair is required to enter the Fairgrounds. Admission to the Orr Building and participation in the competition are free.
There will be 4 events: 2 Minecraft competitions in the morning, a 1v1 Super Smash Bros. Ultimate competition, and a 3v3 team Rocket League competition in the afternoon. The Minecraft events will be run concurrently in the morning, and the Rocket League and Super Smash Bros. events will be run concurrently in the afternoon. The Fortnite event will be held virtually the week before, and gameplay will be showcased at the event. Participants can register for any number of events, time permitting. Participants should bring their own controllers, but there will be basic peripherals and controllers if needed. Brackets will be published after registration closes.

- Registration is now open!
- There is no fee to register for this competition.
- All events are open to ages up to 19, with Fortnite having a minimum entry age of 13, and Super Smash Bros. having a minimum entry age of 10.
- Registration and matchmaking will be done by the eSports platform, Smash.gg.
- There will be random lots/seeding for games with elimination brackets.

- 70/20/10 prize pool split.
- This event will be held virtually the week before, and gameplay will be showcased at the event.

- Minecraft
- Illinois 4-H eSports Virtual SPIN Club will design a map for competitors to build and run under timed circumstances.
- 65/25/10 prize pool split.
- One day only with in person finals on day of event.
- Speed Running Obstacle/parkour course created by eSports Spin Club.
- Competitors will run under timed circumstances.
- Competitors will run under timed circumstances.
- Bed Wars 4v4v4v4 or 1v1v1v1 pvp matches, based on participant numbers.
- Map created by 4-H eSports Spin Club.
