You must be 18 or older and match the requirements of the job.
Yes; This is an in-person trainee program where you will be interacting with classmates, teachers, and mentors.
Yes; You will be a full-time State of Illinois employee and student.
No; DoIT does not provide sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g. H-1B visa, CPT/OPT status). To be considered for permanent DoIT employment, applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
The IT Training Program will be administered in an in-person format.
Trainees will report to work during normal business hours
If you pass the coursework, you will continue your employment with the State of Illinois.
Yes; Program participants will agree to work for the State of Illinois for 36 continuous months including the time spent in the trainee program.
Positions will be on-site or in a hybrid format based upon operational needs.
Inaugural class will commence January 2024.
The total program will take 11-15 months to complete.
You MAY receive a certification, but you will NOT receive a diploma.
Yes; You must successfully pass all coursework in the trainee program.
No; DoIT will assign a track based upon operational needs.
The State of Illinois does a rigorous background check based upon the position in which you applied.
