Cyber Navigator Program
The Illinois Cyber Navigator Program was established in 2018 to ensure that all 108 local election authorities in Illinois have access to cybersecurity training and resources needed to guard against potential cyber-attacks against the state’s election system. Initially funded with various federal funding and state matching funds, the program was designed and implemented by a partnership of the Illinois State Board of Elections, the Illinois Department of Innovation and Technology and the Illinois State Police State Terrorism and Intelligence Center.
The State recently took over funding the personnel in the program and is expanding its scope to help serve local units of government achieve better cybersecurity maturity. To get in contact with the local navigator working in your area, contact James.L.Patterson@illinois.gov.
The Navigators are helping locals receive the SLCGP funded services as they are developed and available.
