Tech Prairie STEAM Expo

The DoIT STEAM Education team is providing timely educational news and promoting valuable STEAM-related events hosted statewide or virtually on this website. Check out the news and events, and explore your interest in STEAM domains!

Since 2021, the Illinois Department of Innovation & Technology has hosted the Tech Prairie STEAM Expo at the Illinois State Fair, aiming to spark people's interest and connection with science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics. The event provided fairgoers with opportunities to experience engaging and interactive demonstrations in the areas of STEAM. Exhibitors - from institutes to industries, from governments to organizations - participate, interact with K-12 students, educators, and visitors, and shared their technologies on the STEAM domains. Fairgoers can attend drone racing competitions and esports tournaments to enjoy the technology breakthroughs.
